'Alsof je in een cockpit zit' (artikel uit zomerbijlage Dagblad de Limburger)

In de afgelopen maand was er veel media aandacht voor onze innovatieve elektrische voertuigen, zoals de Twike en Floow. Hieronder een citaat uit het artikel van deze week uit de zomerbijlage van Dagblad de Limburger en Limburgs Dagblad. De uitzending op RTL4 van 'Lekker weg aan tafel' is nog via internet te bekijken.

Een Twike heeft een stuurknuppel. En dat is wel even wennen. Maar voor de rest is het gemakkelijk manoeuvreren in deze opvallende driewieler. Schakelen hoeft niet. Enkel gas geven en op tijd remmen. ,,Eigenlijk moet iedereen met een rijbewijs hier in kunnen rijden”, zegt Edward Bongers van eCarConnect, de verhuurder van de Twike in Thorn.
Dus ook wij. We laten ons verleiden tot een proefritje in het hart van het witte stadje. Onmiddellijk hebben we bekijks. Een groep Brabantse toeristen komt nieuwsgierig op ons af. Zo’n auto hebben ze nooit eerder ge- zien.
De test doorstaan we glansrijk. Vooral metgezel L. rijdt de tweepersoons Twike behendig, alsof ze nooit anders gedaan heeft. We hebben de grootste lol als we even later over rustige landweggetjes richting het Belgische Maaseik toeren. De ingebouwde TomTom wijst de weg. Fietsers gaan zowaar opzij en zwaaien als we met een snelheid van 60 tot 70 kilometer voorbijscheuren. Datzelfde doen collega-automobilisten en voetgangers. Je krijgt hier warempel een blij gevoel van. Dit is absoluut leuk.
Edward Bongers en kompaan Frank Nienhaus hadden het al gezegd. ,,Iedereen blijft gewoon kijken. Zo’n Twike is niet alledaags. Mensen willen weten wát het is. We krijgen louter en alleen positieve reacties.”
